Welcome to Valley Community Baptist Church. We are one church in multiple locations with campuses in Avon and Bristol, CT. Our mission is to honor God and grow in Christ by worshipping God, equipping believers, bringing people to Christ and serving our neighbors. We would be honored to have you join us

Children & Students

We encourage families to worship together on the weekend, and then choose children's programs and communities for middle school and high school students. During the week, we offer age-specific clubs and gatherings for children, middle school and high school students

There are also special events like summer camps, student retreats and the family summit that will help children and parents grow in their relationships with each other and God.

At Valley Community Baptist Church, we value knowing the truth of God and obeying His Word. Senior Pastor Jay Abramson is the lead teaching pastor. We invite you to listen to the latest sermon series.

At Valley, we desire to help women discover assurance and hope in their identity in Jesus Christ and to find safety and satisfaction in Him.

We will treasure Christ together through ...

Classes & Groups - Winter/Spring 2017

Mothers of Preschoolers | Stephanie McIntosh & Julie Tower | Room 206: This community features great speakers on topics such as strengthening your marriage, improving your mothering skills, growing in your faith, and fostering meaningful friendships. Invite a friend! We always have great food, hot coffee,  and lots of conversation around the table. MOPS meets from September to May, roughly every other Monday, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. There is a $50 fee for dues and craft materials. REGISTER HERE

Moms Bible Study | Heather James | Room 206: This Bible study group meets twice monthly at the Avon Campus. Need wisdom? Let's unpack the book of Proverbs together and see how the Bible speaks to real-life issues such as money, relationships, parenting, and day-to-day pressures. All women are welcome! MBS meets from September to May, roughly every other Wednesday, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Childcare available. REGISTER HERE

Moms In Prayer (Avon Group) | Barbara Schoenly | Room 209: We believe that a mom can be the single greatest force for good in the lives of her children and the children around her. We believe that lives and whole communities are changed forever when moms gather together to pray to the only One who can change a human heart. The Avon group meets two Wednesdays a month, from September through May, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m in Room 209. This group primarily has moms with adult children, but all are welcome. Our first meeting will be Wednesday, September 21, at 11:30 a.m.  Contact Barbara Schoenly for further info. No registration required.

Precepts | LuAnn Turbiak | Room 206: This nine-week Bible study on Philippians will focus on "How to Have Joy." How can you live the Christian life joyfully regardless of people or circumstances? What is the purpose of suffering and the Christian perspective on death? Do you have "the mind of Christ"? Discover true, deep-down joy in your life that the world cannot take away. This study begins Tuesday, February 7, at 9:30 a.m.. Book cost is $18.  REGISTER HERE.

He Speaks to Me | Jeannette Brennan | Room 328 B: In He Speaks to Me: Preparing to Hear from God, a video study with Priscilla Shirer, we will draw life lessons from the account of God speaking to the boy Samuel in the beloved Bible story found in 1 Samuel 3. We will learn six characteristics found in Samuel that are applicable to women today as we tune our hearts to hear God's voice. These characteristics are: A Simple Relationship, A Set Apart Holiness, A Still Attentiveness, A Single-Minded Worship, A Sold Out Hunger, and A Servant's Spirit. By listening to God's voice and obeying Him, women will be drawn into a closer relationship to God that brings a deeper desire to serve Him faithfully. Cost for book: $15. The study group meets Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. REGISTER HERE.

Community Bible Study | Irene Mosher & Linda Teixeira | Sanctuary: Come see what happens in people’s lives when they discover God through the study of His Word, the Bible. CBS, which is open to women and men, meets weekly during the school year. Each class member receives a course book with a commentary and home study questions. CBS meets every Thursday from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. Each week, you’ll participate in small group discussions and a large group teaching. From time to time, fellowship meals will provide special times of sharing and relationship building within the class. Starting on Thursday, September 15, we will be studying the book of Matthew. A Spanish group is also available. More information and registration contact Irene Mosher or call 860.758.7163.

ESL Book Club/Bible Study | Val Prado: An ESL Book Club for women meets Thursday mornings from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the Library at the Avon Campus. This year, we are reading the book A Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren.
