A NOTE FROM PASTOR JAY
.........................................................................................................................

Greetings,

In Luke 11, Jesus was praying presumably in front of His disciples. When He was done, one of them said, “Lord, teach us to pray…”  He then gave to them a model prayer (the Lord’s Prayer) plus two additional illustrations regarding prayer. Putting all of this together, we see four categories of prayer, which Jesus taught His disciples to perform.

Those categories or “types” of prayer can be formed into an acrostic of the word PRAY — Praise, Repentance, Asking and Yielding. We PRAISE His name, words and actions. We REPENT of our sinful words, actions and thoughts and our lack of obedient words, actions and thoughts. We ASK so that His will might be done in our lives and this world and we YIELD to the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives and this world.

This Webpage is meant to be a place where you can come and join with hundreds of others who are practicing this critical discipline of what it means to follow Christ – praying as He did.

Jesus also said to His disciples:
If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. This is to my Father’s glory,
that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
(John 15:7, 8)

May we remain in Christ and His Word remain in us so that we will pray in such a way that His Father receives glory and much fruit is produced through us.

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Jay Abramson
